How you make a difference

The Licensed Mental Health Clinician NC is responsible for providing competency restoration services to groups and individuals, including psychosocial assessments, individual solution-focused treatment, and crisis intervention. This position requires maintaining accurate documentation of services provided and participating in Quality Improvement programs. Additionally, the clinician will provide mental health consultation to Facility/Unit personnel and maintain effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual treatment, including competency restoration training, and provide crisis intervention services to patients.

• Conduct psychosocial evaluations and coordinate multidisciplinary care for patients assigned to his/her caseload.

• Provide training to institutional staff on human behavior and/or mental health issues and participate in staff meetings and in-service training programs.

• Complete documentation in the mental health file of individual patient's treatment progress and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.

• Comply with employee standards of the Facility and maintain a professional working environment and personal appearance consistent with professional responsibilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or closely related behavioral science field from an accredited college or university

Experience

  • Coursework and professional experience that indicates knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, assessment and treatment of major mental disorders, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation

Licenses/Certifications

  • This position requires a license or immediate ability to become licensed in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychology Associate, or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
