How you make a difference

A Forensic Psychologist is responsible for conducting psychological assessments, competency to stand trial evaluations, and risk assessments for the court. In addition, they provide staff education on psychological issues and are an active member of the treatment team. They may also conduct psychotherapy, psychological testing, and develop and implement behavioral management plans while monitoring and ensuring quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts forensic evaluations, including competency to stand trial and risk assessments, and prepares reports for the Courts.

• Provides consultation to the multidisciplinary treatment team, including supervision and training of psychology students, staff education, and expert testimony to the court.

• Provides individual and group therapy, as well as psychological assessments and quality assurance reviews as required.

• Demonstrates compliance with ethical and clinical principles and collaborates effectively with other disciplines.

• Completes thorough and accurate documentation of services provided, and demonstrates understanding of and compliance with special precautions, disaster and fire safety procedures, and abuse reporting protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • PhD. or Doctorate in clinical psychology from an accredited university

Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience in clinical psychology.

  • Skilled in organization, supervision, and state of the art treatment interventions.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current license as a Psychologist in the State of Florida.

Compliance

  • Ability to maintain CPR certification.
